So, I built Pushmi, a simple app that lets you create fully customizable reminders with any frequency you want. No in app purchase, completely free, just something I made to help myself and thought others might find useful too.
Some ways I use it:
- Reminders to take breaks from screens (20/20/20 rule)
- Stay hydrated throughout the day
- Daily affirmations or self-care reminders
- Gentle nudges to fight procrastination

I also tend to forget things, but I took a different approach. Instead of relying on my phone to remember for me, I trained the device nature gave me—my brain! Let's face it, we’re already bombarded with notifications, stuck in a cycle of constant interruptions, making it hard to focus. Push reminders only add to the noise. My wife’s phone, for example, keeps reminding her to "Drink water," yet she always ignores it.
So, I chose a different path—training my memory. I started using an app called "When did I...?". It works similarly: you create a list of things you want to track and tap them when you complete them. If you forget, you can log past events. This process forces me to recall when I last did something, reinforcing my memory while also allowing me to add small notes for reference.
Over time, I found that reminders now pop up in my head naturally, and I can always check the app for confirmation. Plus, it integrates with Siri Shortcuts. For instance, when I finish a swimming workout, my watch automatically logs "Swimming" in the app. I don’t have to remember to track it manually, yet I can always see when I last swam and know when it’s time to go again.
I didn't know about this app, it sounds interesting and is probably useful in some cases.
Regarding Pushmi, it's pretty simple. I tend to slouch so I always appreciate when someone tells me "fix your posture". That's how I came up with Pushmi. It's this person, reminding you of good/healthy habits, with you, everyday. So in my case, this was what I needed.
Hey cool app! One important feature (at least for me) would be to be able to enable reminders on specific days or times. For example I wanted to enable the "break every 30 minutes" timer only on weekdays from 9 to 5.
The website mentions never forgetting to take medication, which is one reason I downloaded it.
But I wasn't able to find a way to set frequency in days rather than minutes.

Indeed, in this first version the user can only define a frequency in minutes. Technically, we could define a frequency in days but it would be less convenient as it is.
I keep in mind this feature for a future version!
The "Get it on Google Play" badge is much lower resolution/quality than the Apple one, it looks pixelated and they seem to be sized differently.
Edit: The screenshots you're using in the app stores, you've chosen white text on a white gradient background?? Why??
Also, does this really need ads? No offense, but how much will this possibly bring in vs turning users away from a potentially useful app? I personally am not downloading it because of this.
The badges are both from the official communication and they seem to have roughly the same resolution, but I do agree that they are sized differently.
About the white text that's a good point lol. We wanted something light, what would you recommend to stay in this palette ?
Finally, regarding ads, we totally understand the repulsion that one might have towards ads, but in this case there are only a couple banners at the bottom of 3 pages. We made sure that they do not bother the user in any way. No videos to watch, no ads that would cover the entire screen, only two little banners at the very bottom.

The onboarding is very strange. If I understand it correctly, this app is used to schedule reminders on my local device.
Why do I need to give a username (?), my age, and am asked for my gender? And what my goals are?
Just let me set up notifications and notify me at the scheduled times.
