It's a rather short article. I think the odd thing about Zuckerberg's actions and obsessions is that most of what Sarah Wynn-Williams has exposed was likely to be exposed in the normal course of operating in China, had Facebook succeeded in doing so.
If I had to guess, Zuckerberg is not used to having his private mistakes and misdeeds publicized, and feels very entitled to not have this happen. More strategically, if Zuckerberg is willing to have Meta bend over backwards for the Chinese government, what is he willing to do for his own government? It's not clear that it has any tangible consequences, but anyone observant would conclude that Zuckerberg has no principles that can't be subverted for even the hope of acquisition of wealth, influence and power.
