Kinda makes me embarrassed to be an Anthropic customer. The product is good but not _that_ good, and certainly won’t get there in six months, or 24 months. Their product can’t keep itself focused long enough to complete a project beyond simple proof of concepts and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
LLMs are likely to shrink the market for software developers, especially at the start-of-career entry point (which will have strange medium to long term impacts on the industry that are hard to predict), but anyone who thinks LLMs are months away from replacing 90% of developers is either not using them and buying into the hype, is developing them and overhyping themselves or just getting high on their own supply.
As far as improvement at an increasing or even linear pace goes... I find myself switching back to Claude 3.5 very often because of 3.7's propensity to just drive full speed off the rails.
