I think the US Defense Industry will still dominate weapon sales in the near future but, if Europe truly is serious about rearming itself and spending those Euro domestically to build out its defense industry, this will hurt the US Defense Industry and make their programs less cost-effective, increasing the tax burden on all Americans.
Building systems where the economics of scale matter, customers sharing the cost keeps prices in check. It's why the F35 costs what it does, enough countries bought in to help share the expense and drive down the price. If it's only the US it will increase the price of everything across the entire defense industry and product line as Europe pivots to its defense industry.
I hope Europe does, the world needs a strong and powerful Europe.

Or maybe the other way: it will put pressure on the US defense industry to be more cost competitive, and this will result in a lower tax burden on the American tax payer.
