The article is so small relative to how huge this news actually is.. They were only supposed to be there no more than 10 days.. 9 months they were stranded.
It's wild how nobody seems to be outraged by that.
Okay stranded might be the wrong phrase but not being able to get home for 9 months doesn’t seem like the right outcome for a 10 day itinerary to me. I’m glad everything is working out the end though.
"not being able" is just another way of saying "stranded" again.
Please read up on the details of this adventure and you'll come to realize that whoever is putting this phrasing into the media is trying to lie to you!
It's a "holy shit, two cakes" situation. I don't think anyone who's devoted enough to being an astronaut to go through all it takes is going to mind more time in space doing space stuff.
Of all the things to be outraged about you choose two astronauts spending more time in space out an abundance of caution for the safety of their return flight?
The average visitor stays at the ISS for somewhere around 6 months, so it's not like these two were up there for an order of magnitude longer than normal or anything; would expect it's pretty much the same experience coming back that most of the 6 month stay people have.
I remember a previous astronaut for Starliner left the programme since he wanted to ensure he could be at his daughter’s wedding.
Touching and prescient.

It'll be good to see them returned. The whole thing has been a total embarrassment for Boeing, NASA, and America.

They were never stranded, that's why anyone with half a brain isn't outraged.
Or maybe the astronauts, who themselves stated they weren't stranded, are big fat liars. Personally, I'll take them at their word.

They were able to get home, NASA just decided to move them into a standard rotation which the Astronauts were obviously okay with.

I'm sure they appreciate the extra time in space, but remember they live human lives as well. They're both married, and Butch has two kids.
Anyone with half a brain would know just how dangerous this situation was, but you're just projecting.
How was the situation dangerous. Please explain.
bone density loss ? Permanent osteopenia ?

Empathy, sure. Outrage? Lol.

Gravity is going to be rough.

Ah, true. I was thinking of Frank Rubio at 371 days. Still +50% might be enough to put the sting in acclimatization.
A three-hour tour.
