I remember reading about these automated store businesses on a marketing forum. I did something like this myself in 2009. I would use my own software to find arbitrage opportunities on other websites (and also cancel listings when they were sold out).
It worked pretty well for a couple of years. Low amount of cancellations and happy customers. After awhile, it became harder and harder to make a profit, because as soon as I found something profitable, Amazon would start selling from their own warehouse and out-compete me or all my sales would drop off to 0.
I eventually moved off of Amazon completely and 10X my profit.
