My first task when getting into research labs was annotating an emotion recognition database, was actually video not pictures, and we mostly worked to annotate the facial features. They had actors come in and record different emotions for 6s each.

It's fast, accurate (beating Hugging Face and OpenAI models in our tests), and detects 14 emotions.
