I don't get it though. Plenty of windows laptops for basic users have much slower cpus and less memory. It seems that rather than being about a convergence between desktop and mobile, this is simply about offering a basic machine with a good build and an acceptable balance of specs. Nothing that Microsoft or many other big names couldn't have done at any point in time with their current technology, had they cared about offering a good, recognisable and trusted user experience.
